Service Opportunity for Oct. 30 [UPDATE]

[UPDATE: THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED.  IT SHOULD TAKE PLACE THIS WEEKEND, NOVEMBER 6.  I WILL VERIFY BEFORE THEN.]

This Service opportunity is tomorrow (Oct. 30)!

Saturday Oct. 30th the Community Outreach ministry will be helping Meadowview Elm. School get the word out about a neighborhood meeting to improve the community. We are asking all who are interested to help us canvas the neighborhoods off of swan lake and shed rd with information about the upcoming meeting in November. We will meet at the church building at 1pm Sat.
If you still need a service credit for the Fall Retreat, this is an opportunity to earn that.  Or if you just want to serve, this is an opportunity to do just that!

You are responsible for your own transportation.

Jack-o-lanterns from Super Saturday

We had a blast at our last Super Saturday!  The Schreiber's have the perfect place for hanging out!  Many thanks to them for letting us come out and play!  We roasted hot dogs and s'mores over an open fire, we bobbed for apples, and we carved pumpkins!

View the pictures on Facebook.

Holly took a lot of pictures for us and I'll try to upload them as soon as I can.

Fall Retreat 2010

It's time again for our annual Fall Retreat!  Our theme this year is "How to Survive a Zombie Attack."  I know you're wondering what in the world that has to do with anything.  I could tell you right now but that would spoil some of the fun!  You'll have to come to find out!

We're heading back to Sky Ranch!  The cost is $70.  You can sign up in the Teen Room.  Sign up by October 27.  Your money is due November 3rd.  This guarantees your t-shirt and your seat on the van.  Don't let anything stop you from coming!

Everyone going must fill out a Medical Release Form and a Sky Ranch Participant Agreement.  Click on the links to access.

If you can't see the video above, click here to watch it in another window.

Think you know who the Zombies are?  Send your answers on Facebook or email.  All correct entries will be entered into a drawing to win a prize.  Winner will be selected at Sky Ranch!

Super Saturday, Oct. 23rd

Middle school, our next Super Saturday is October 23rd.  We've got some great stuff planned for you guys.  Most importantly, it will be taking place at Derek & Holly Schreiber's.  If you've never been to their place then you're in for a treat!  Make sure you sign up in the Teen Room by October 20.  That's the Wednesday before Super Saturday.  We need to know how many to plan for.

Also, this one is free so don't let anything stop you from coming!  Let me know if you need a ride there so we can arrange that!

Corn Maze

We're going to the Corn Maze October 16th!  This year's theme is Vexcon, as you can tell from the picture.  I have no problem admitting that I like to watch Billy the Exterminator and therefore, I'm really excited about going to this maze.  And it's my first corn maze!

The cost for the maze is $20.  That includes the Corn Maze plus a lot of extras!  We'll be going in the evening.  We'll meet at the church at 6PM on that Saturday and carpool over there.  We're going early enough so that you have an opportunity to do both mazes.  There is a normal maze, that's the one above, and a haunted maze!  They also have haunted trails.  The haunted maze starts at dark.

Bring money for concessions if you want to eat while you're there or get any snacks.  According to the website, outside food and drink is not allowed.  You may just want to grab dinner before you come.

We'll head back to church once everyone has had their fill of fun or frights!  Parents, if you can help carpool let me know!  Thanks!

Area-wide at Airline

Our Area-wide for October will be at Airline!   This will take place on October 10, 5:30-7:30PM.  A representative from Lipscomb University will also be here to join us!

The Spiritual-Life Family has been working on planning the night.  They are in charge of the worship, teaching, and overall flow of the area-wide.

Social Family, you are in charge of the games for the night!  This can be what you want it to be... within reason and resource.  I'll be talking to you to get feedback on what games you want to play so be thinking about it now!
